Wondering what to pack? Need to know the exchange rates and sales tax before heading out for that shopping spree? Now that you're on your way to Orange County, here are a few important details you should know.

Climate/Attire
Our average daytime temperature is 75 degrees and most days are sunny. Check out our current weather forecast.  Casual sportswear goes right along with our comfortable climate. Evenings are cooler, so bring a sweater or light jacket.

Sales Tax
An additional 7.75% in Orange County on all purchased items.

Gratuities
Though tipping is voluntary, staff are customarily given a gratuity of 15-20% of the bill.

• Taxi drivers are tipped 15% of the fare.
• Bellhops receive $1-2 per bag to carry luggage to your room.
• Airport skycaps are tipped 50 cents per bag or generally a $1minimum.

Driving Regulations

• Valid driver's license and liability insurance are required.
• Traffic flows on the right (with driver closest to the center median).
• Child seats are required for children weighing less than 60 pounds and are available with car rentals.
• Most car rental establishments require drivers to be at least 25 years old.

Alcoholic Beverages
You must be 21 years or older with photo identification to purchase or consume alcoholic beverages in California. It is illegal to drive with a blood alcohol level of .08 percent or greater. Liquor may not be served, purchased or consumed in public establishments from 2-6 a.m.

Visitor Safety
Anaheim/Orange County is a safe, family-friendly destination. The Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau works closely with the Anaheim Police Department and the Southern California Tourism Safety & Security Association to provide visitor safety and security training to area hotels and attractions. Anaheim is one of only four U.S. cities with a specialized Tourist Oriented Policing Team and has become a role model for other cities and destinations around the United States.
